Projects

♦ FROM CHRISTMAS TO EPIPHANY IN NORTHERN ROMANIA is my first extended photographic project. I spent a good month (December 2014 – January 2015) in remote northern Romania, recording life as it unfolded over the festive season. What I discovered was a charming mixture of old and new, where the fear of God sits comfortably with merry-making, and the realities of twenty-first century life do not exclude the sense of a community deeply in tune with natural cycles and seasonal changes.

♦ Some years after my visit to Romania to witness and record glimpses of the life of the community of Baia, Suceava, during the festive season, I created a leaflet about the interior of the church at the heart of the village, the White Church (Biserica Albă), as a joint photographic project with the parish priest, Fr Viorel Iftime. Here you can view the fabulous interior of the nearly 600-year old church.

♦ In 2023 I took portraits of my close friends for a joint 2024 calendar. We had tremendous fun and I would say the results were glamorous and flattering… You can view the calendar here.
